World Vision Canada Youth Ambassador launches crowdfunding campaign to fight World Hunger
Mississauga, ON: On 16 October, World Food Day, Jananee Savuntharanathan, a 18-year-old World Vision Canada Youth Ambassador launched a Crowdfunding campaign on Fundrazr, Canada’s largest crowdfunding platform.
Jananee’s goal is to raise $15,000 to help end world hunger. 100% of the funds raised will go to World Vision Canada, the largest partner of the World Food Programme.. The impact of this campaign will be multiplied 3X in value thanks to generous donations from the World Food Program.
“Hangry is the feeling of being so hungry that you get mad, upset and or angry. Hangry” is not just slang – it’s a real word. No one should experience extreme hunger and starvation. But unfortunately, this is the reality for over 805 million people in the world,” – Jananee Savuntharanathan.
Jananee is currently a first year student at the University of Toronto Mississauga and an active volunteer in her community. Jananee began her involvement with World Vision while she was a student at Gordon Graydon Memorial Secondary School in Mississauga.
This campaign is about making our combined action toward ending world hunger as impactful as possible. Crowdfunding has enabled us to connect with a global community of people who care and want to change the world.
"All contributions will multiply 3X in value thanks to the generous donations of the World Food Program!,” – Jananee
