TORONTO, ON June 18, 2015 – The National Crowdfunding Association of Canada (NCFA Canada) today announced that Amy Coupal, Chief Executive Officer, My Class Needs Foundation, has joined the Association’s Crowdfunding Ambassadors Program.

“As a qualified educator, Amy brings a real passion for the development of educational training programs and her experience in building national professional projects will be instrumental in helping NCFA's community serve the high demand for crowdfunding education amongst entrepreneurs, investors, platforms and industry stakeholders across the country", said Craig Asano, Executive Director of the National Crowdfunding Association of Canada.

NCFA Canada Crowdfunding Ambassadors

Crowdfunding Ambassadors (CFAs) are leaders, educators, supporters and advocates of an inclusive and broad-based crowdfunding industry in communities across Canada. They are circles of influence and ‘go to resources’ for small businesses, organizations and investors to connect with, share and learn about crowdfunding via locally hosted events and initiatives. CFAs are specialists and plugged into an international network of shared resources, thought leadership, and industry professionals striving to cultivate and shape the future of crowdfunding in Canada and beyond.

Amy Coupal, CEO, My Class Needs Foundation

Amy joined MCN’s not-for-profit affiliate Curriculum Services Canada (CSC) and former charitable venture The Curriculum Foundation in 2006. A former teacher, Amy began her teaching career at the Toronto District School Board and also taught with the Osaka school board in Japan. Since leaving the classroom, Amy has managed the development of multiple teacher-training programs (both online and face-to-face) with the Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario (LDAO) and a range of provincial and national professional learning projects at CSC.

She is an avid champion of innovation in education and has pioneered the development of next-generation connectivity tools for teachers. Passionate about 21st Century learning, Amy is in a unique position to facilitate learning by helping classrooms, parents, and communities connect with each other and help students acquire the resources they need to succeed. Amy holds a BA (Trent University), BEd (Queens University) and MEd in Workplace and Adult Learning (University of Calgary).

About My Class Needs Foundation

My Class Needs Foundation (MCN) is a registered Canadian charity that helps connect K-12 classroom projects with interested donors through a crowdfunding website. To date, MCN has funded over 700 projects in Canadian publicly-funded classrooms and supported the learning of over 35,000 students.
